Allison T38

The Allison T38 was an early turboprop engine, while the T40 was composed of two T38s driving a common gearbox. The T38 became the basis for the very successful family of Allison T56 turboprop engines which have been in service starting with the C-130 Hercules over 50 years ago.[1]
