Scaled Composites Model 395
The Scaled Composites Model 395 is an unmanned air vehicle which is currently under development. It is a derivative of the Scaled Composites Model 281 Proteus aircraft, and is being developed jointly with Northrop Grumman, who is funding the project. The project's goal is to develop a multi-mission Medium-Altitude, Long-Endurance (MALE) aircraft that is also capable of operating as an unmanned combat air vehicle, and is competing for USAF's Hunter-Killer project, with an expected first flight of 2007.
The Model 395 will have a 900-pound internal payload capacity, as well as the capability to carry external payloads of up to 6,500 pounds. It also has more than 100 cubic feet of unused internal volume.
