IAe.22 DL
From PlaneSpottingWorld, for aviation fans everywhere
The I.Ae. 22 DL was an Argentine advanced training aircraft designed by the Instituto Aerotecnico (AeroTechnical Institute) in 1943. It had a wooden structure, and a 9-cylinder 450 HP radial engine (Ae 16 "El Gaucho") with a Hamilton Standard 2M-D-30 metallic propeller. The prototype flew the 8 August 1944, although some sources give a different date.[citation needed] Approximately 200 aircraft were built. A version with an Armstrong Siddeley "Cheetah" 25 engine (radial 7 cylinder, 475 HP) and a Rotol constant speed propeller was designated I.Ae. 22- C.
