The Curtiss A-18 was a production test verion of the XA-14.

Thirteen aircraft, fitted with Wright R-1820 radial engines, were produced, and although successful further production was not ordered due to a lack of funds and better aircraft (A-20) under design.

After completion of testing the Y1A-18s were redesignated A-18 and assigned to operational units.
