Hi name here is JOHN.I am an engine freak if you know what I mean. I read somwhere that the ROLLS ROYCE MERLIN was once made as a short and long version as an experiment.I feel that this refered to the stroke of the engine only .From memory the capacity remained at 27 litres and the power was unchanged. From this experiment one version was selected as the standard.I would like to know what were the bore and stroke measurements of the two versions. Thanks to anyone who can help me.
